Okay, so a package arrived this week that is the culmination of something I accomplished back in early December. And I am very excited to show it to you here!
Let me start from the very beginning:
Okay, so I am on a newsletter list by a woman named Andrea who has written a book called "EC Simplified" (complete with website and forum community to spread knowledge about elimination communication).
(As many of you know by now, I practiced this with Ella Rose and she was out of diapers for good at 19 months! Huzzah! I know the goal of EC is not necessarily getting out of diapers good and quick, but man it is a nice plus ;) )
Anyway, back in December, Andrea announced that she was inviting EC Simplified community members to submit funny stories about EC in her "Twelve Days of Piss-Miss" series. The funniest story would be deemed the winner and would win either a Moby Wrap or $50 Gift Certificate to Continuum-Family.com as a prize. I have quite a few funny tales about times when EC has been less than squeaky clean, but went with a story about William from his first week of life.
Lo and behold, my story was judged the funniest and I got to pick some items from Continuum Family website!!!
Here is what I got:
Size Large Split Crotch Pants in OG Bamboo |
Finally!!
My very own set of split crotch pants~
I've been dreaming of having these ever since I was ECing with Ella.
These are very popular in China but almost impossible to find in the States -- these are homemade by the Continuum Family operation! Buya!! So soft and comfortable... I do have to roll up the pantlegs a bit but I'm always glad to go too-big rather than too-small.
This is how they work. Easy elimination happens when baby assumes squatting position. |
I also got these handy dandy legwarmers!
Huggalugs Leg Warmers in Lipstick Pink ;) |
I've made many a pair of legwarmer for the kiddos in the past, but now I have my first "manufactured" set! In fact, getting a package with new, never-used-before goods was a very novel thing for me! I would have taken a picture of William in them except that by the time I wanted to, he'd already managed to mash rice into them. So they are in the wash... Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be seeing them in future posts soon :) I like how they are long enough to envelop his ankle as well. He looks like a dancer in them. Heh!
Ringley Natural Teething Toy, Knotted Style |
So this little doohickie is an uber OG/natural/eco-friendly/etc. teething ring for William. I'll be honest, he isn't glomming all over it as I was hoping and expecting. But I'm sure if I dip it in water and freeze it or something, it will become his new best friend...
William standing in his new pants. You can barely tell they're split-crotch! |
I'm very proud to have won something in a contest, especially one that wasn't just random lottery. Granted, it was from a "miss" -- but at least I wrote it in a funny way I guess! :D
And so our adventure in ECing continues, now with a little help from this new gear.
Oh! And I'm so sorry that I failed to write a post on Thursday -- my first lapse since my Daily Blog Challenge began! Oh well, I'm sure it will happen now and then. But overall I am enjoying blogging about my days very much and I hope you are enjoying reading them too.
Until tomorrow, take care and Happy Elimination Communicating!!
